Made in Brixton – After Dark
We are very pleased to announce an open call for submissions for “Made in Brixton – After Dark,” our August exhibition. This exhibition is inspired by “London Nights,” the current exhibition at the Museum of London. Photofusion is hosting the public programming for “London Nights,” which will include a nocturnal event on June 22. On that night, Photofusion will be open until midnight. We will be running a series of free workshops and talks, including a photo-walk through Brixton, a lighting and pop up studio workshop, an opportunity to photograph the night skies using telescopes and polaroid film, and a panel discussion featuring women who shoot at night. If you already work after dark, or are inspired to try it after attending one of our free workshops, we invite you to submit 6-12 images with the form below that, in some way, fill the brief “Made in Brixton – After Dark.” We’re open to the widest possible interpretation of the theme – you tell us how it was made in Brixton (Was it shot in Brixton? Do you live in Brixton? Was it printed at Photofusion? Was it inspired by an event in Brixton?).
Anna Sparham, Curator, Photographs, at the Museum of London will be selecting 5-10 photographers to appear in the exhibition.
Submissions will be accepted from June 21 –July 16. Shortlisted artists may be asked to meet the selection panel during the week of July 23. Selected artists will be notified July 30. The exhibition will open on August 9, and run through September 1.
